Making the decision to use new materials is difficult because you need to test the each new material for applicability to the current materials being used. I have decided to use colored pencils because they lend themselves to infusion with existing color patterns, By working in the colored pencil over acrylic , watercolor gives a rich deep color and surface variants. Collage can be used to alter the composition or make subtle changes. It can be used to enhance, detract, lighten, blend the texture. Material suitable for collage can be any paper or sheet that can be affixed to the existing paper surface substrate. I tend to use fast food wrapping papers, Christmas tissues and pieces of colored paper work as well as well as tracing paper. brown paper wrapping and brown paper bags also.
