February 22

Brief thoughts on how to do a composition based on an a "I want" or a quick thought or anything that crosses my frontal lobes. When I start to work I try to pick a way to visualize what I have seen in my mind. How about start with bright yellow then start the design in white and graphite them work in the collage and color to see how it world put.

Sitting in the Dr. Office waiting to have my blood drawn for my quarterly appointment with Dr Gonzalez. Waiting is kind of like hell and is a dreary excuse for living. Planning on paining a plethora of all water media pieces.
I think I can fill a bunch of frames. Keep the collage to aim and work purely in only water color. Work on technique and variance I'm color. Come in with wax pastel for more brilliance use simple tissue paper for lightening effect and continue later with more watercolor and highlights with acrylic. Work on series of gourges overgrown with greenery. Looking up fromthe vley floor. At the cataract.

My work tends to be more of an abstracted landscapes to tercel see of I cam develop a different reference for the landscapes. Susan Makstadt in Memphis is doing a lot of work to change the vantage point of the traditional landscape. Her work explore the different vantage point and different subject matter than used in the past, such as parking lots and roadsI use as a collage material anything that can be considered paper this away my piece is still consider paper. Since I use a Matte medium for collaging the surfs be is still workable in almost any medium watercolor adheres to the surface as if it were raw paper . The paper , I use is predominately Stratford and Utrecht papers at around 100-150 pounds. As wells i use carpenters brown heavy paper. This paper is heavy enough to be constantly manipulated and it if rips it can be glued and resurfaced easily.
